I have seen these bladders advertised, and I could certainly use one for the times when my allergies and asthma are acting up! But I always wondered if they cause the mattress to break down faster, or cause any other damage to the mattress or boxpring. Have you had yours long? And have you noticed any problems? Guest guest Posted September 11, 2006 Report Share Posted September 11, 2006 Hi, I have only had the Mattress Genie for about 3 weeks, so far I have not noticed any change in our mattress. We have a waterbed frame that we put a mattress only in, so our mattress is not real firm like some. The literature with the mattress genie said it (the bladder) will hold a 1,000 lbs. We got ours from Blair, so you should be able to go to http://www.Blair.com if you want to check it out for yourself.
