Guest guest
My uric acid level are on the high side of normal and over 60, which is a threshold for gout indicators... I read that pantethinic acid therapy can decrease uric, cholesteral, and immprove adrenal functioning. Has there been any study conducted with hyperaldesteronism and panethinic acid therapy to see if improvement in aldesterone levels can also be met with this ? Guest guest
I am taking 75 mg spirolactone a day. One doctor says I can increase to 100 mg bid. I am reading that water soluble vitamins are washed out with hyperaldesteronism making us ascorbic acid defieicient as well as don't process folic acid, biotin, and other water soluble vitamins and that there is a nephrocap that could benefit hyperaldesteronism as well as the pantathene pills. I am game for anything that remotely works....I hate losing my hair from the excess hormone! Isn't aldesterone like pushing too much steroid in the body?CC: lowerbp2@...To: hyperaldosteronism From: lowerbp2@...Date: Sat, 26 Mar 2011 23:06:52 -0500Subject: Re: uric acid, pantethenic acid, and adrenal function I know of no studies in this area. Guest guest
Forget the water soluble issue. You have bigger fish to fry.I have used up to 400 mg and if you read Bravo's article he goes up to 600. But also note that by decreasing salt intake some oould cut the dose to 25 a day.So how hard are you DASHing.Without excess salt in the diet aldo causes no or very few problems. If the hair loss is from the excess hormone effect (not documented well in the lit) then taking more spiro should help. It if is due to the spiro DASHing will decrease the dose needed. Unless Nephro cap is free I would not waste my money. DASH Dammit.I am taking 75 mg spirolactone a day. Guest guest
Major hair loss was one of my problems even before my PA was diagnosed, but when looking back I clearly had it. Over the space of 15 + years, the loss started with hair on my legs and worked its way up to the head. I lost lots and lots of hair. If my head hair hadn't been so thick to begin with I could have ended up needing a wig, as it was you could see scalp in places. Now, with Dashing and/or 75 mg. Spiro it no longer falls out, and may even be growing back in, as I don't see scalp the way I used to. The hair loss/Dashing/Spiro connection may be a coincidence, but nothing else has changed that would account for it, so I think it's related.DianneMy uric acid level are on the high side of normal and over 60, which is a threshold for gout indicators...I read that pantethinic acid therapy can decrease uric, cholesteral, and immprove adrenal functioning.Has there been any study conducted with hyperaldesteronism and panethinic acid therapy to see if improvement in aldesterone levels can also be met with this ? Guest guest
Hats off to your story!. I think we need a hair loss in PA file and stories.
