Guest guest
Hi Debbie, Thanks for the offer, I live in Washington co. I am not on Medicaid. I always had a job, from when I was 15 till I was 50. So my SSI kicked in when I became disabled. That seems to be their problem. How could I work and pay taxes, and now expect help. They have me on their list as a homeowner who is self employed, which I was when I was changed to disabled. While I was able, I was a machinist. At that time I started an IRA. When I became disabled the IRA froze my account and started pay off. I am allotted a yearly amount, but can't touch the balance. This is why I'm denied any help. They go by the balance, which I have no access to. I am denied because I worked and paid taxes. I do have a caring neighbor who has also been excluded from their circle, but she's young and headstrong, and there are times when I am left to deal with it. I can still boil water for tea, and still work a can opener, so I survive without any assistance from Washington co. It does aggravate me that I worked all those years and paid taxes. I could have lived off the system like so many others. I'd be better off now. Kenny
