Guest guest
hello. i'm new to natural perfumery. i'm a stay-at-home mom and plan to start my own natural perfume business. the reason i chose natural perfumery is because i wanted to create a product that is safe. the essential oil safety info has me in a bit of a panic. although i've been researching for months online and read mandy aftel's essence and alchemy book, i am still fearful of creating something dangerous. i have read the safety from my suppliers (mountian rose herbs and eden botanicals) but am wondering if there is another great source to get safety info that is easy to understand. do many of you selling natural perfumes put a disclaimer on the bottle about safety? my other main concern is ratio of essential oils to carrier oil. i have been using 10% EO and 90% fractioned coconut oil, however, the perfume isn't lasting more than a couple of hours. i have read about fixation and base notes and have tried to incorporate things like benzoin and cistus into my perfumes, but still after a couple hours, the perfume doesn't last. any help is appreciated!
