Coordinated Care Organizations - Proposed Admin Rules - Public Comment Period Coming CALL TO ACTION!!!!!

Dear Colleagues, The profession needs you, your patients, family members and friends to step up once again and get ready to post your public comments to the Oregon Health Authority regarding the proposed CCO administrative rules. I was appointed to the CCO Admin Rules Advisory Committee along with many others and made several written recommendations to the staff as per deletions and additions that needed to be made in our opinion. Unfortunately only one of those recommendations survived and we need to flood the Oregon Health Authority with public comment that the other suggestions be added. The public comment period is to start July 1 and last 21 days or July 22. I will be presenting at the University of Western States students, faculty and administration the need for the school to rally their troops to do the same. In the coming days I will be giving you suggested email templates to send in regarding what language we recommend, why, and specifically where in the Administrative Rules the language should be submitted. Other members of our health care coalition will be doing the same that being the nurse practitioners, optometrists, naturopathic physicians, acupuncturists and massage therapists…. Recall the last time we asked you to do this same email public comment stuff was just prior to the 2012 short 30 day legislative session and relative to the coming Transformation Bill (Senate Bill 1580) and our battle cry was that the coming “Coordinated Care Organizations” (CCOs) must not be allowed to discriminate against any provider practicing within their scope, licensure or certification…and the result the Governor put our language into his bill Senate Bill 1580. Language copied from the federal language SECTION 2706 of ObamaCare and that which the American Chiropractic Association with its federal coalition of health care provider got through Congress. During that last email public comment we had more than 250 emails relative to not allowing the CCOs to discriminate more than 10X’s as the next highest issue response which had but 24….
