I have a question for all of you - to help settle a question here at the office... ChiroCode states that the five regions of the spine are: Cervical Thoracic Lumbar Sacral Pelvic (sacro-iliac joint region) If Pelvic is the sacro-iliac joint region, then what is the Sacral region? Wouldn't Pelvic be the pubic symphysis? Otherwise, what is the Sacral region? Just trying to make sure we code right... Thanks, Matt Terreri, DC, CCSP
Guest guest
Hi Matt, Welcome to the grey areas of billing ..... it is often seems pretty much like a crapshoot; Your best bet is to call the individual vendors to find out what they prefer (yes, it is often that individual) and, of course, learn the narrows of the medicare-accepted codes. And then, of course, just about the time you figure them out, 7/10 companies will change what they accept. Itis such a fun game. ;'-} My staff has provided little 'taped on the desk' codes lists at all of my leaning and charting spots. I check them frequently. That little habit has smoothed the flow in our office. Guest guest
Without having the definitive answer, and thinking out loud, since the pelvis is composed of the 2 iliac bones forming 3 joints, 2 SI and 1 pubic symphysis, I have considered the SI joints to be pelvic. The sacral region??? How about the sacrococcygeal joint? Guest guest
Don't bother they will not pay I have been trying for 20 years. The CPT code needed is not reimbursable to Chiropractors trust me I've been down that road, the one next to it, and the ones that veered in every direction. If you get reimbursed please post on howDr. A Caughlin DC CAC155 NW 1st Ave Day, Or. 97845 office fax To: neroco2@...CC: oregon_chiropractic_association ; oregondcs From: neroco2@...Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2012 16:00:01 +0000Subject: Coding question Greetings:Anyone know the correct billing code for a CDL physical? Thanks.Neil R.
