Guest guest
Given the recent discussions about how explosive many of the past and present world class Olympic lifters are- My question is, why wouldn't it be prudent for basketball and football coaches (as well as any other explosive contact sports) to simply have their athletes do a program almost identical to what an Olympic lifter would do? I know that it wouldn't be smart to have one's athletes do the full volume of lifting during the season; and it would be necessary to modify the in-season program. Also, some sport specific conditioning would need to be done as the season approached. However, it appears that having such ball players train as if they were weightlifters out of season would be a great idea. From what been said about Shane Hammon, I don't think he'd have a problem posting-up against Shaq, or being a fullback and lead blocking on Ray .
