Its meaningful in that it claims more than anything else that the

effect of the hyperbaric oxygen is to stop the inflammatory oxygenation and

damage that is taking place in the brain.

The problems with this:

1. You cant go on with hyperbaric oxygenation forever and by the time you

have started the damage may well have been done to a large degree. The aim

cannot be to make a grand difference.

2. The effects that they have got from other factors are very difficult to

all join up but they have used this in the autism model to justify it. They

may well work but it is a hope.

3. They agree that it requires a study in which just air is used as a

control...and I must agree.

4. They claim falls in C-reactive proteins and one other. Well the levels

of them to start was so low that the machines that measure the CRP will be

almost at the bottom level of its ability. The CRPs were all normal.

Much more useful was the literature in that they have tried hard going

through the scientific background to justify what they have done and this

may be of value.
