Guest guest
Hello Patty, Yes, I was worked up by the clinic and owe an article on the experience. It resulted in two new AFOs and about four trips to Detroit from NH. Things are busy for the moment for me, but look for it hopefully before Sept. 12. Guest guest
Patty, I was seen at Dr. Shy's Clinic in Oct 2003. We very much liked the geneticist (she helped me get DNA testing and was very knowledgeable) and Dr. Shy (kind, brilliant, and committed). Unfortunately, Dr. Shy was going out of town that day so he did not spend as much time with us as we would have liked. We had a negative experience with his orthotist, and did not appreciate his interpersonal style or approach with us. There has been virtually no follow-up, although they do encourage return appointments on an annual basis. Plan on a long day, with lots of waiting and down time. If you have never been seen by a CMT specialist, I would strongly reccommend going b/c you will learn alot about CMT and your condition.
