Guest guest
Hi Graham, First off, welcome to . I'm so sorry you're feeling tormented by pain and depression. Have you discussed this with your doctor? There are many good medications that will help both the pain and depression. In addition Vitamin E has proven itself to help lessen neuropathic pain. If you are newly diagnosed, you might want to keep a pain journal and consult with a Pain Specialist? (not sure if this type of help is available in the UK. Is your pain muscle pain, nerve pain or joint pain? Does your pain burn or ache? You may find that by changing your diet, perhaps consulting with a nutritionalist might help, and if you have CMT 1A, you might want to consider taking Vitamin C. And do you exercise? I know these are tough questions when you feel so bad, but pain and depression can be contained in a variety of ways. I only know 2 CMT docs there, but I assume there must be more. If you haven't seen either Dr. or Dr. Reilly, I hope you will and from there find some relief so you can begin living in hope. No doubt some of our other UKers will drop in to say hello and offer their suggestions. Again, welcome to . I'm sure you'll find us helpful and hopeful. ~ Gretchen (Founder and Moderator of )
