Guest guest
Since you have the opportunity to eat fruits and vegetables at every meal on BFL, you can go kind of wild with the raw stuff. I don't know about juicers because they remove the fiber. I kinda like blenders because they pulverize the whole plant. But you can make awesome green smoothies for breakfast. I like spinach mango and banana. Because the mango and banana are light, it comes out BRIGHT green. If you add berries it gets all muddy looking, but still delicious. If you don't want to mess up the plant vibe with gloppy whey protein, I really like Sun Warrior vanilla rice protein in my green smoothies. You can also skip the protein powder and have your plant-powered concoction alongside some eggs, cottage cheese, or greek yogurt. Of course, BFL lends itself to giant salads and raw veggies. If you make dip with hummus, tuna or cottage cheese, you can use dip as a protein portion, raw vegetables as a freebie and still have a piece of fruit for your carb. There was a big discussion here awhile back about vegetable spiralizers. You can make raw vegetables into pasta-like strands for salads. Those are really popular with people eating lots of raw foods. I don't have one yet though. I do have a dehydrator that I should probably do something with. If I get inspired, the first thing I'll attempt is seasoned kale chips. If I could create crunchy, addictive potato chip happiness while eating greens, that would be awesome. > Hi! Guest guest
Seasoned kale chips are so good, but I bake them in the oven on a low setting. I had no idea you could make them in a dehydrator. It probably dries out more evenly. Hmmmmm........ > Hi! I've done BFL before with great results... this time I'd like to > incorporate more raw stuff. I've gotten a juicer from a friend. Guest guest
Also, I forgot to mention for dessert type stuff - my new favorites - figs (not in Newton form, actual figs) and Larabars! No weird unnatural stuff in it and perfectly portioned. Another blog I happened upon - she posts a lot of raw/vegan recipes. I've tried a few of the desserts and they came out awesome. I eat more natural sweets now than buying packaged cookies/cakes etc than I ever have. Most of her recipes are no bake or wicked easy and fast to make.  http://www.loveveggiesandyoga.com/  Liza  > Hi! Guest guest
Which spiralizer did you get? I am wanting to get one very shortly. It looks like the coolest thing and will be perfect for summer veges. I can't figure out one that will do more than just zucchini? > > > I agree with everything Skwigg wrote.
