Guest guest
Sorry, I should have said MS. -- or Abbie. I will remember going forward. , did they tell you that you have primary aldosteronism? Or secondary? The medication you mention, the Rasilez, is a new experimental medication. It is a renin inhibitor. Since you are in the Philippines, there is a possibility your cardiologist is being paid to recommend people take it as part of a drug trial. That happens very often there. If you have primary aldosteronism, a medication like Rasilez ought to make it worse, not better. That's my amateur opinion in any case. Almost the only readily-available medications that will work well for primary aldosteronism are spironolactone and eplerenone. For normal people, spironolactone can cause hyperkalemia. For people with primary aldosteronism, it is almost the only drug that works, and you keep raising the dosage until you have normal potassium and blood pressure. Spiro will not cause hyperkalemia, unless youre taking it along with potassium supplement. I and many others here have been taking spiro for a long time. I haven't had any problems with hyperkalemia. Dr Grim can tell you more about the safety of taking spiro. I don't know what Rasizlez is. em > > > > > > > Take a look at the sodium content of the restaurant dishes that were > named the " unhealthiest foods of 2010. Guest guest
I am not sure of the name as not a US drug. but if an renin inhibitor it will have not effect on BP in PA. It will however take a big bite out our you checkbook.CE Grim MDRasilez is a direct renin inhibitor and it will have no effect on improving your BP if you definitely have primary aldosteronism. Your doctor doesn't have enough knowledge in treating this illness, in my opinion.> > > > > > > > > > > > > > Take a look at the sodium content of the restaurant dishes that were > > named the "unhealthiest foods of 2010." Guest guest
Might have cant say because we have little data on EPLER HCTZ and BB. Why on HCTZ. if you have PA you should only need EPLER esp if dASHingBut I am happy to report that as a result of my combination of eplerenone and HCTZ, my endo reports that my renin has "come back up now." I don't have the numbers at hand as I write this. I gather that if I had also been on a beta blocker, my renin would have remained suppressed? Or have I gathered misinformation somewhere? ... If you have primary aldosteronism, a medication like Rasilez ought to make it worse, not better. Will most likely have no effect as there is no renin to inhibit.Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use .
