Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Doing well w/ Tracey this week! I actually have some good DOMS going from yesterdays workout - she packs a lot into those 6 minute segments, and although I said I thought they were more "Maintainance" level for a regular exerciser, I may have to eat my words as I have some nice DOMS in my butt, legs, upper body....I was looking through her book again and she really stresses interval cardio to burn fat, particularly stubborn lower body fat. Her book has some suggested workouts for a treadmill and stationary bike. I may give them a try. I know, I know, I keep talking about using my treadmill and I have the cardio coach cds, so there is no reason why I don't use it - it is just that where my treadmill in is sooo uninviting (the unfinished part of the basement, by the cat box! YUCK!) There is really no room for it anywhere else in our house unless i intend to turn a room into a gym, but we really don't have a large enough house to sacrifice a room. Anyway, Renew You Cardio Fusion is a what it says, a fusion workout! There are four segments you can do them individually or all together or in any combo you wish. The first segment is a yoga warm-up - sun salutations that moves into a bit of dance (nothing scary, just a few plies and leg exercises). The second segment is a light and easy to follow dance routine. Not complicated - not difficult, really just meant to get the blood flowing and the core warmed up. Third segment is upper body Pilates style sculpting, lighter weights, more focus on core control. Third segment is total body Pilates style toning - a little of everything, but mostly core work/stabilization. I really like Tracey's approach to exercise - she definately seems to understand what it is like to be a busy person with limited time to devote to exercise. Her book and Quickblast DVDs are great for fitting short spurts of exercise into your day and her other workouts are all well chaptered so easy to divide up into segments that can fit a busy schedule. The meal/eating plan in her book (Sexy in 6) is also very realistic and down to earth. I really may give it another go. I liked her food journal, just had trouble with the protein. It sounded sort of Weight Watchersy with a focus on fruits, veggies, fiber, water, etc. I'll dig the book up and post more about it if anyone is interested. Anyway, hope everyone has a great day. I, unfortunately, am trapped in meetings at work all day. I hate meetings, nothing every gets accomplished! Last week we talked for two hours about one freakin' paragraph in a contract! I'm sure the private-practice attorney for the company doesn't mind since they probably bill hundreds of dollars per hour, but we're all salaried so it doesn't help us to have these lengthy discussions about a sentence! Take care!Donna
Guest guest
Great job again, Donna! LOL about the cat box! I wouldn't want to the tmill by the cat box, either, heh. I like cats a lot, but not so much the litter! Our house is too small to get any cats right now anyway, but I suspect having to clean the litter box discourages me as well. Whenever we watched the in laws cats my DH got to do that, heh. Can you semi finish the area by the tmill? My whole basement is technically unfinished because of the low ceiling, but I've painted most of the walls and have both my gym and craft area down there. Maybe you could just paint a little bit and add some fun posters to make it more inviting? Just a thought. Amazon sellers have a couple of the treamoves videos for just a few bucks, last time I looked. Not that I'm enabling, I'm just sayin'...
