Guest guest
The 47 is prob mEq/L. So need to multiply by urine volume per 24 hr. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension I'm still salt loading and having extreme nausea and the metallic taste in my mouth is back. Does anyone have this with high salt intake. Endo also suggested possible kidney involvment due to salt symptoms. Last Thyroid tests, serum sodium and potassium were normal except low urine sodium at 47. This was just a one time test and Dr. said it was low but online levels say ok. This was tested on my very low salt diet too. Any thoughts....

Guest guest
Too much or too little K? I am experiencing metal taste for a couple of weeks now. Guest guest
I thought with PA you normally have low K. And before my salt loading I had normal serum K...not using the method you prefer. When I'm on higher salt, I know I'll feel better if drink a lot of water and eat more potassium...so I'm cufused about the possible high K. Could it be because of higher aldosterone making the metallic taste. I don't use salt sustitutes because I think they taste gross. But have some at home I will try and see if it taste the same and will let you know. Re: anyone with nausea? Metallic taste is prob K. Some think anyway. Another good question. Guest guest
YesNa/24 hr = Na concentration in the urine say 47 per liter x the volume of urine passed in T (time in hrs) x hours of time urine was collected gives Na excreted per hour. Multiply by 24 and walla u have Na eaten in a 24 hr period nTiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension Can you explain how do do this? Guest guest
It's not a better taste, it's yucky, like a sinus infection taste. Maybe it's time to see the dentist. > > > > > > > > > > > I'm still salt loading and having extreme nausea and the > > metallic > > > > > > taste in my mouth is back. Guest guest
The value was 47 mEq/L but still confused. sorry -horrible at math. The urine collected was just one of those cups they give you for urinalysis test. The reason I wanted to find out because I'm not sure if endo is looking at one time sample or the 24 hour values. Because Web MD online and other sites said for one time test the sodium was ok but if measured in 24 hours then it would be very low. Re: anyone with nausea? The 47 is prob mEq/L. Guest guest
I struggle with GI issues including nausea and vomiting. They think it is autonomic dysfunction related somehow. But maybe it has to to with the PA? Hmmmm Kim in MN > > I'm still salt loading and having extreme nausea and the metallic taste in my mouth is back. Does anyone have this with high salt intake.
