By now, many of you should be aware of the fact that the method known as

" plyometric training " did not bear that name in Russia, where it was

extensively pioneered. There it was called " udarniye metod " or " shock

method " , but even then it is alittle known fact that the real shock method

was developed many years before then by soviet factory workers in motor

plants who used available technology to enhance performance. Apparently,

during their lunch breaks they really enjoyed lying down to do the bench

press, but theirs was no ordinary bench press, because they utilised an

approach which they referred to as the " shock method " or " shocking method " .

Here is a unique photo of this secret " shock method " bench press, for the

first time seen outside Siberia.

You are advised not to try this method nowadays, because it is way beyond the

capabilities of any lifters or athletes today, especially in the West. The
