Margaret,

Cardiff University did a study on Cod Liver Oil and found it to be very helpful for arthritis.

There has been a lot of discussion re inflammation on the list over the months. Please would someone point me in the right direction to get some useful info about diet and supplements etc to reduce inflammation in the body? I've come down with a flare of arthritis in both knees for the first time and it's pretty crippling :-( . Time for me to take action - I know I've been in a physically inflamed state for years.

>>rates the Vital Nutrients BCQ for inflammation, I haven't tried it because I can;lt keep enough in stock to spare me one - plan to in new year.

Protease enzymes, bromelin, glucosamine, Omega 3's have all helped here

Dentist calls,m must run

BCQ has boswellia and curcumin in it, should be good, you can also look

for those two elsewhere in other supplements or on their own. They are

both part of Inflammation Control Advanced (by Vitamin Research

Products) - both IC and IC Advanced were created specifically for

rheumatic type inflammation, so should help. quite pricey though :(

I also remember reading on enzymes for arthritis, but haven't saved

info. maybe google or try enzymestuff.com

there has been lots of talk on D3 here lately, it is also

antiinflammatory so try get as much sun exposure as you can. also CLO.

That reminds me about an elderly guy I met 10 years ago while on holiday. He was dancing around a lot with the younger kids and commented to me that he couldn't have done it 2 years before. Apparently he had really, really bad arthritis, couldn't hold a glass properly in his hands. So he did a lot of research and came across a "cure". bentonite powder, apple juice and I think it was either Horsechestnut or horsetail...Can't remember. In any case he took only those and the arthritis melted off him, or so he said. Can't judge as I hadn't seen him when he was very arthritic...... But now I know so much more the bentonite powder makes so much sense.....
