Guest guest
Sorry, , The board could not come to and agreement as the subject was too polarized. There was a lot of resistance, etc. and the whole thing was gaussed over. Hey, I’m under pressure here. -- E. Abrahamson, D.C. He was in a hunting accident and had his lower leg shot from a 12 gauge from about 12 " . Long story short he lost his fibula and was in danger losing the complete lower leg. In desperation, he decided to try magnet therapy as a last ditch effort and lo and behold the remaining tibial periosteum began to heal. A few years later and he's still got the leg though with a pronounced limp. I currently have a patient that has a floating costal/cartilageous break that isn't healing. Beyond " doctor time " and light kinesio taping, I'm at a loss as to what else might help. Can anyone make a recommendation on or offline where I might send her for a rib belt with magnets? Thanks, Mealey, DC
Guest guest
, why not post your question directly to the OBCE. When I was president of the board (2003-2009), we discussed the magnet use and did not stop it's use. I recall on the ETSDP committee (experimental tests devices and procedures) we discussed this as well. The limiting discussion was related to multi-level marketing of magnets. There is a rule about multi-level marketing to our patients as it can present a conflict of interest in profits vs healing intent. Please send your specific questions on magnets to Dave.Mcteague@..., address the question to the entire OBCE. Ask for clarification. If you wouldn't mind posting it here for us after you get the answer, that would be great. Or you could look on the board website under 'policy' icons. That's where all other questions are posted and answered. thanks. Minga Guerrero DC abowoman@...
