You know, kiddo....what you suggest might work. Sounds like they pulled the chest wall too high, tractioning the stomach and colon ligaments. Sounds like that is what she is experiencing. Periodic stretching and yoga will probably be her best avenues. And since ligaments tend to shrink and contract throughout life, it is probablay something she will need to do daily/weekly for the rest of her time. This is why you ALWAYS go for that second opinion .... and it does take avoiding their bullying about "if you don't do it N O W (!!!!!!), you will fall off the edge of the earth" message. Just a little play on words.

45 year old petite female had radical mastectomy for suspected cancer (misdiagnosed- no cancer) who had a DIEP Flap reconstruction.

http://www.prma-enhance.com/index.cfm/PageID/1754

She mentioned that she did not have a lot of extra tissue between her rib cage and pubis to donate and actually gained weight to gain more tissue.

Talk about having to face reality.

Currently, has pain in her abdomen for which she asked if chiropractic could help.

Feels like her colon is full or that she needs to stretch constantly in extension.

I told her that a C1 adjustment should do it.

I’m wondering if some sort of deep tissue ordinary fiber tearing self massage would gradually free some of the irritated nerve tissue.

Of course the severed nerves that have made new sensory endings (boquets and briquettes) are there to stay.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Is there somebody tha is really skilled at Visceral Manipulation in your area? MAR [ http://www.manualadhesionrelease.com/ or perhaps ART could also be helpful Also for self massage on abdominal ,paoas or iliacus Jill 's [yoga teacher] tech with a SPRI Sponge ball [cost around $10] is excellent http://youtu.be/C8sSUsJ-bTY here she is with the well known Starett DPT doing a demo..I rx that to a number of my patients with those issuea. Thanks Greg,

I honestly think it’s interstitial within the muscle and connective tissue of the abdominal wall. I feel comfortable teaching her how to poke and prod and challenge intestinal adhesions.

We all should.

I was a rabid researcher of my own belly button as a toddler. My mom almost had to duct tape my hands behind my back but I foiled her by being born about 30 years before duct tape!
