I did not have blood testing, Rita. That was 14 years ago and if they

had the blood test then I don't think it was widely known or used.

So I don't know exactly which type of CMT I have. So far I've been ok

with that. There may come a day when I want to know more so I can

adjust to or treat the symptoms better.

I've been reading the CMTA literature and newsletter for years. I

have purchased many of the Physician's Handbooks from the Association

over the years. Whenever I get a new doctor I give them one of the

books and ask them to read it. Sometimes the response has been

phenomenal. The doc I've have for many years told me when I gave him

the book that he was looking for something like that because he had

another patient with CMT - someone who had a more severe case of it -

and he was wanting more information to help in her treatment. Ever

since whenever I go see the doc he often makes some comment about the

handbook.
