namaste paul!

i may be wrong, but are not both plant products (i.e., jasmin & sandlawood for

motia) distille at the same time to create an attar? otherwise, i think (someone

correct me) a co-distillation of sandalwood and another aromatic material (mud,

jasmin, vetiver, etc) is considered an 'attar.'

much light;einsof

LOL! I didn't know that I was in this conversation!!! :-)

My exposure to Attars is limited... You know probably as much as I do, and I

think you defined as I would know as well.

And even though I have house guests from India this weekend, I don't think they

would know any better either... :-)

I just saw that White Lotus is no longer selling attars. Could I ask for

thoughts on where else you might buy them? I had some attar samples from

Liberty Naturals once, and didn't like them so much as the samples I've had

from White Lotus, which always were amazing.

Best wishes

Johanna

Hi Johanna,

Floracopeia has a wide range of beautiful, ethical attars.  I'm particularly

fond of their blue lotus attar.  I highly recommend you give them a try.

Good luck!

Hi - thanks a lot for that info! Will do.

I saw also that Perfumers' Apprentice has some.

I noticed that one of the PA attars was from Australia, and thought that was

interesting that the Australian sandalwood industry must be branching into

attars? Does anyone know any more about it?

Best wishes

Johanna
