Guest guest
Larry, I am wondering which style of Birks you wear? Just wondering if your Birks are an all-enclosed style and could the leather around them be causing your feet to sweat? Have you tried other shoes, like maybe some New Balance ones that have some mesh and aren't all leather? ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Gretchen: My Birks are Boston clogs with felt uppers. Before they were discontinued, my shoes were New Balance 901. I like the idea of mesh. I will look at the New Balance catalog and hope they offer mesh in a deep instep last. Thanks for the idea. --Larry
Guest guest
I often wonder if the reason my feet get cold is due to sweat. I am never quite sure if the sensation I am feeling when they feel cold is sweat or just cold skin (if that makes sense) but I do notice that my socks sometimes feel damp (but I thought this was normal). My mother used to always tell me to wear Keds with socks otherwise they stank. I wear birks and think it is one of the things that helps them mold faster in the summer - warm weather and a bit of perspiration from the feet - my winter birks just do not have the same form to them.
