Guest guest
I'm doing GREAT! I went to the Tennessee Champions Weekend and ran Race for the Cure with Team Body for Life. I ran it in 26:20 seconds. Someone got a picture of me running with my mouth open when I saw the clock. I was totally shocked that I ran that fast! Last 5k I ran was Mother's Day at 29:15. The Champions weekend was a lot of fun, but it was also a lot of information to process. So many inspirational stories from BfL and Transformation champions! And from regular people too! Bill is kind of funny, but Porter Freeman, he had everyone rolling in the aisles. What a card! I think I lost about a half pound over the weekend, despite my best efforts to gain by eating Pringles and Skittles on the way home! Today I'm back to clean eating! > This weekend i did something to my hip. I didnt get to workout and was > really upset. I did measure and found i have lost another 6 inches so > 12 total. Guest guest
I can totally relate. Yesterday was one of my best days yet(end of 6th week 1st challenge) I ran walked for 30 min and felt elated. Today I went for a brisk walk at lunch and twisted my ankle and fell. I am going to see my MD in an hour, I was crying a bit and it was mostly because I dont want anything to slow down my momentum. One good thing came of this though. I felt an overwhelming urge for a cream donut but ate my healthy lunch instead and found myself full! Well, thanks for listeneing. I am pretty sure that it will be Ok as I have hypermobile joints. RICE thats th way to go! niki Subject: Re: How is everyone doing??? To: bodyforlifewomensclub2 Date: Monday, October 13, 2008, 1:41 PM No workoug for me this week. Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your injury , I really hope you have a quick recovery, it must be frustrating for you. Your positivity is still inspiring though. As for the 6 inches. Omggggg.. thats amazing! Amazing!!!!!! 12 inches in total?? WOW!!!! Really, fantastic. I'm so happy for you. I hope you're proud of yourself. You're making me wish I'd measured now, but the scales and the tape measure make me crazy. I prefer to take weekly or fortnightly progress photo's. Thanks for asking about me though. So far, so good! It's really good to be back on BFL. I feel like I've got some control again. I hope things go well at the chiropractor for you...let us know how you get on. Best wishes dea > > This weekend i did something to my hip. I didnt get to workout and was > really upset. Guest guest
Congratulations, on your time Diane! That's awesome!!! Sounds like a wonderful event/weekend. I've just started reading the BFL champions book.. so I am quite jealous you got to hear some of these people in the flesh. Dea > > > This weekend i did something to my hip. Guest guest
It sounds as if an injury would be the only thing that would slow you down at the moment. It sounds like you are doing fantastic with your program. I'm sorry about your ankle but I'm sure has some brilliant suggestions for modified workouts if you have to stay off it for awhile. Good luck at the doctors. dea > > > > > This weekend i did something to my hip. I didnt get to workout > and was > > > really upset. Guest guest
Thank you! I am thrilled! The best thing is my sister emailed me yesterday that my 16-y/o niece who runs cross country ran a 5k at her last meet in 26:22 and she is upset that her 44-y/o aunt beat her time! Ha! I'll bet she didn't have hills, hills and more hills to deal with either! I would never have improved my time like that without HIIT. The way it continues to raise your 10's is awesome! Guest guest
Here is a strange question. Has anyone successfully used protein powder to make hot cocoa? Debbie
Guest guest
LOL Debbie, Funny you should ask. I got that idea recently - maybe two weeks ago, when the cold weather hit us. I thought how smart it would be, to have a nice hot drink to warm myself up that would be full of protein. It did not go too well. I think to dissolve the protein powder in the already hot cocoa and it immediately got very clumpy. No matter what I did it would not budge. Maybe if I used a blender - but I was too lazy to having to wash the blender. Anyway, I did eat some of the clumps - it was akin to chewing on a not very tasty old chewing gum - and I tossed the rest. Not the greatest experience at all. Maybe it would have turned out better if I tried to dissolve it in cold milk first. Why do you ask - did you have a similar experience? Fess up! :-) Alena To: bodyforlifewomensclub2 From: dosorio@... Guest guest
Sorry , I'm not that far into the BFL champions book yet to offer any real meaningful insight. Others that have read it all might be able to give you a better review. I'm just a few pages in at the moment but I still find it motivating. Every little bit helps I think. Don't worry about your lunch. Just try your best. I had very dramatic results during my last challenges and I didn't do everything absolutely perfect. Just keep on track and you'll do great. dea > > > > > > > > > This weekend i did something to my hip. I didnt get to > > workout > > > and was > > > > > really upset. Guest guest
Diane, that is very, very impressive and inspiring. I hope you are really proud of yourself. You're a shining example not just for your niece but also for the rest of us too. HIIT wouldn't work if you hadn't put in the hardwork and committment to it. I'm really happy for you. dea > > > > > > > This weekend i did something to my hip. I didnt get to workout > > and was > > > > really upset. Guest guest
Starbucks will put protein powder in your coffee, so there must be a way to make it work with hot cocoa. I would suggest putting it through the blender bottle with some water or milk first and then adding it to the hot chocolate once there are no lumps. Guest guest
I haven't tried it, but I was having a cup of cocoa and thought it would be better if I were getting some protein out of the deal. LOL I'm guessing if you mixed the protein powder with warm (not hot) milk instead of water, it may work. I don't have any chocolate protein powder on hand right now, but I was just thinking out loud. Guest guest
, I'm sorry that you are hurt, I hope not too bad? I was gone for five days for vacation and a conference for work. I ran 14 miles on Sunday! I still can't believe it. I also walked a zillion miles for two of the days. I did weights and yoga in the fitness center at the motel. I did really well food wise. I took protein powder and drank it with water. Also took South Beach living bars (23 gm protein, 210 calories) but Diane jinxed me. They never gave me gas before but they sure did this time. Instead of having freeday, on the next to last day I had a tiny piece of dessert, and a cookie and two glasses of wine. On the last day I wanted a cookie, but when I went to buy it, I decided that I didn't really want a cookie. It was easier to make healthy food choices than I thought it was gonna be. I had fruit at the meetings for breakfast and the protein and bar for two meals (one each) lunch had a healthy option and salad and dinner I made sure to pick healthy restaurants. On the vacation days, I would make the lunch last for two meals as they give such big portions in restaurants. Glad to be home, where I'm not surrounded by pastry. Guest guest
I use Zone and Myoplex Lite bars and don't have problems! Awesome job on the super long run! Wow!!! I did OK in Tenn. with instant oatmeal and protein powder mixed with milk. You need a spoon for oatmeal though! Ha! And bars for snacks and salads with meat when I was out. Traveling is definitely possible! > Well, I'm sad now, because they were my go to on lazy days and camping > trips. I would buy a case at Sams.
