Guest guest
Sounds like you're doing great Donna! I like your plan for next week too! And I can answer the pushup question: it's because they're so darn hard!!!!! That's my reason anyway! I'm not dreading doing them now but don't look forward to it either. I have terrible DOMS in my triceps and chest from yesterday and am supposed to do pushups again tomorrow but might wait until Monday if I'm still sore tomorrow. Friday - TM/Bike & Yoga Stretching Hi Everyone, I didn't feel like waking up this morning - the cold morning air, the darkness and this bad habit I have gotten into of going to bed too late have caught up with me! Anyway, I struggled downstairs, hopped on the bike for 15 min, then jumped on the TM for 35 minutes - I did another run/walk program - after a 5 min walking warm-up I alternated 3 min of running/jogging w/ 2 min of walking. The last "interval" I did 5 min of running/jogging and then I cooled down w/ a 5 min walk. I'm glad this doesn't bother my back since it keeps the TM interesting and challenging. I might have to break out those cardio coach DVDs I have now! After that, I decided to do some stretching - I did Peggy Cappy's Back Care Basics (a library borrow). The DVD is well chaptered - I did the reclined leg and back stretches - pretty basic stuff that I know how to do on my own, but the use of a DVD makes me more likely to do it. I will try to get more done off this DVD - it is all very beneficial for the back - different stretches, gentle back bends, restorative poses. I would buy a copy, but it is at the library and it is usually not checked out - so I can always pick it up when the mood strikes - plus, I have lots of other helpful yoga also (and, these are all stretches I know how to do and I know they're good for me - the DVD is just my motivator to do them!) I think my plan for next week is to do 4 cardio sessions, 2 long Pilates sessions, 2 shorter PIlates Sessions (tacked on to 2 of the cardio days) and 2 yoga stretch sections (tacked on to either the Pilates days or the cardio days). I also will re-start the push-up challenge. I don't know why it is hard for me to keep consistent with doing them??? Oh well - hope everyone has a good day. I may or may not workout tomorrow - I usually take Sat as a rest day, but if I do end up early before everyone else, I'll fit something in. Take care, Donna
