Guest guest
Hello All, I could swear I recalled a few posts about adding alcohol to absolutes such as rose or jasmine to help extend their shelf lives, but I cannot seem to find them searching through the archives. Am I recalling this correctly? I understand that it creates a dilution, which has its own advantages, and that it limits you to alcohol-based perfumes. I am interested in how exactly it helps preserve an absolute though, and what amount of alcohol to absolute or what % dilutions are best for preservation. Also, are there certain absolutes that need this more than others, e.g. have routinely shorter shelf lives? Thanks for sharing your immense knowledge and experience!
