Guest guest
The whole n pharmacy BBC series was really informative. Alec's part was obviously edited it to the minimum because I am sure that before Alec allocated each presenter the search of the top, middle and base notes, there must have been some explanation or history of some kind. I loved the presentation of the piece of Sandalwood mysore and how Alec went about creating the perfume around the history of and her Empire with ingredients such as coriander, tuberose, rose, tonka bean, vanilla. Alec's passion is obvious when he tells the history of perfumery during n times and I suggest you see it. The BBC shop shows it will be available for DVD sale as of 11 October at the price of £15.99 (you can pre-order): http://www.bbcshop.com/history/the-victorian-pharmacy/invt/av9813/ The only flaw I saw was that the historian woman, Ruth, was a real pain. Sorry to say she is one of those typical people who will never understand the difference between a natural essential oil and cat pee if you excuse my language. I think her presence and comments somehow spoilt Alec's attempt to educate people to use pure naturals but she probably is one of those who never wear fragrance because she thinks she is allergic. Since I am about to order some of Alec's extraits, I definitely will also try the Empress of India perfume.
