Guest guest
I got up earlier yesterday so I could get my workout in before it got too hot. I started with an All Star Workout that was labeled Endurance Cardio & Sculpt with Ellen Barrett. It ended up being Slowrobics with Ellen Barrett. I really think my DVR in North Carolina had a hard time with keeping the right labels on workouts and that is why I'm having problems with the stuff I just set up to dub and walked away from. LOL Anyway, this turned out to be what I needed anyway because I had done circuit workouts the past few days and really wanted something that didn't use weights. It was very low impact and more stretchy cardio if there is such a thing. Not a great heart rate killer, but perfect for getting moving in the heat. I then did the pose guide from Budokan. This is basically 20 minutes of how to on the basic yoga and martial arts moves he uses in the workouts. It is slow and controlled and again, not a real heart rate killer, but it fit with my morning in the heat. Then finally, mid afternoon, we got some rain! My thermometer dropped 20 degrees in an hour and I was thrilled. So I got a second workout in since it was cooler. I did the full instruction workout from Budokan. It is 50 minutes with the first half being yoga and the second half being martial arts, then ending with a standing meditation. I prefer a meditation seated or laying down, personally, so I can totally relax, but it was okay to do standing and easy to improvise if you absolutely have to do a seated or lying meditation. I like Budokan because it is more like a traditional martial arts class. No choreography or fancy footwork. It's just more focused on form and feels tougher to me because of trying to be so precise. The clouds and rain seem to be sticking around here, so I'm going to enjoy the coolness and get in some more Budokan today after doing All Star's ball workout with G.
