Guest guest
Hi Kristy, Your symptoms sound similar to mine at it's peak. I could not figure out the leg weakness and I could hardly walk up the driveway. Everyone thought I was crazy, and that is still debatable, but after I started on spiro, then started actually watching my diet instead of "sometimes" watching it, AND I THINK MOST IMPORTANT SO FAR for me......is being aggressive with my potassium - within reason I mean I feel 100% better. More energy, and even so much calmer. My story has been told on here and I didn't put it together for years that I had this chronic potassium deficiency and the hypertension (I knew about PA but everyone else ignored it including me) along with some crazy symptoms, but I was telling someone at church today that I believe that while it all added up to make me very ill, it seems the potassium has been the real clincher to help me feel better. Thats alright since I love pickles, tomatoes, and potatoes anyway....go K+ B Subject: Mass found on my left adrenal glandTo: hyperaldosteronism Date: Sunday, January 16, 2011, 1:11 PM I want to start from the beginning as to the very first symptom. Im pretty sure Conn's is what I have. These symptoms started the first of August and they keep getting worse. I was picking beans in the garden and my legs just felt like jello, weak. I thought it was from being out of shape, but I felt like this all week long. I never had any pain at all. After a month of my legs feeling like this I started thinking I had MS or something. Then along with my legs feeling weak my vision was blurred, I gained 25 lbs. and I swear it all went to my stomach like I'm pregnant. I kept going brushing it off until I had a hard time climbing the stairs. It was like my knees would just give out. After 3 months of this I went to my family Dr. He tested me for MS, lots of blood work, EKG and everything come back normal (I also had no reflexes when he tested me and my blood pressure was 160/90). He said something about treating me for depression, like this is all in my head I wasnt going back. I am on NO medication at all. Then after another month it started going up into my upper body. Not only are my legs weak but my upper body as well. I look like a moran walking so slow like I just cant make it another step. The only thing that makes me feel better is taking potassium pills, I take 8 to 12 aday not sure if this is good for me or not but I atleast have some energy. I can fall asleep at any time of the day and I'm in bed by 8 p.m. every night. I seen an article in newspaper about conns syndrome and went back to the Dr and demanded the test. He did blood work, urine sampling 24 hr. and he ordered a CT scan of my stomach area with the dye. I just recently had this done. I've been working up until I went in to get my results which was last Monday. He said the CT showed a mass on my left adrenal gland. My blood work all shows normal. I got copies of all my lab work and my sodium is 416H I know thats not normal. My potassium/creatine ratio in my urine is 64, random 16, and creatinine 25. Not sure what all this is I just need some help. I cant take this anymore. After the Dr. told me all this I became like more weaker and I fell going to the bathroom that night and started to get terrible muscle spasms in my upper back and left shoulder. I called him and he gave me a pain med and muscle relaxer I took one of each and it just didn't help. It lasted for two days and now I'm okay I'm just sore there. My shoulder and my side in my rib still is tender and will spasm when I go to bed only. Please someone help. Also my chest hurts sometimes like I cant take a deep breath it hurts and my ears are plugged. Oh and I can't yawn or sneeze I'm just too weak to even though I try does this make any sense? My Dr. refered me to a Endocronologist. I go tomarrow.

I know that sounds bad, but it's something. Alot of what the Group is saying is new language to me. If you can kind of fill me in quick on how this works I would really appreciate it. Guest guest
They did an MRI checking for a tumor on my pituatary gland and coritsol am and pm was both 5.6. I'm 40 years old the Dr. says I'm very healthy I am not on any meds. My blood pressure ranges from 160/90-130/90 everytime I go. I was going to an iridologist when all this happened so I was taking mega vitamins, could this have triggered either of these diseases? I'm not obese I now weigh 155 lbs but I cant loose because I can hardly move. I barely eat. Doesnt cushings have something to do with the pituatary gland? Not sure what they are going to say to me at my appt. I know I'm from a small town and if this disease is so rare I'm scared to death to have anything done. > > > > > > > > > From: kristystuck <kristystuck@> > > > Subject: Mass found on my left adrenal gland > > > To: hyperaldosteronism > > > Date: Sunday, January 16, 2011, 1:11 PM > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > I want to start from the beginning as to the very first symptom. Guest guest
Coritsol is made by adrenal glands. Tumor on adrenal glands can make to much Coritsol. How did they check for Coritsol? Coritsol should be lower in afternoon than morning not the same both times. > > > > > > > > > > > > From: kristystuck <kristystuck@> > > > > Subject: Mass found on my left adrenal gland > > > > To: hyperaldosteronism > > > > Date: Sunday, January 16, 2011, 1:11 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I want to start from the beginning as to the very first symptom. I've been working up until I went in to get my results which was last Monday. He said the CT showed a mass on my left adrenal gland. My blood work all shows normal. I got copies of all my lab work and my sodium is 416H I know thats not normal. My > > > > potassium/creatine ratio in my urine is 64, random 16, and creatinine 25. > > > > > > > Thank you for replying to my message I was about ready to give up. Im new to this and wasn't even sure I posted this correctly or maybe it was too long of a story but I just dont want to miss anything. I have been freaked out since this happened to me and have been searching the web non stop since. I'm thankful my Dr. tested me for this. I'm still not sure I have Conn's I'm just hoping I do. I know that sounds bad, but it's something. Alot of what the Group is saying is new language to me. If you can kind of fill me in quick on how this works I would really appreciate it. Guest guest
This is a good place to learn what it all means if problem is related to mass on adrenal gland. Need to give us as much information as possable. If Coritsol level is truly the same in morning and afternoon then this should be the first thing to look at. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: kristystuck <kristystuck@> > > > > > > Subject: Mass found on my left adrenal gland > > > > > > To: hyperaldosteronism > > > > > > Date: Sunday, January 16, 2011, 1:11 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I want to start from the beginning as to the very first symptom. He said something about treating me for depression, like this is all in my > > > > > > head I wasnt going back. I am on NO medication at all. Then after another month it started going up into my upper body. Not only are my legs weak but my upper body as well. I look like a moran walking so slow like I just cant make it another step. I got copies of all my lab work and my sodium is 416H I know thats not normal. My > > > > > > potassium/creatine ratio in my urine is 64, random 16, and creatinine 25. > > > > > > > > > > > Thank you for replying to my message I was about ready to give up. Guest guest
KristyI have found this site to be a wonderful source of information. I think you are lucky to have had the CT already. If a mass has been found on your left adrenal I would think that means the problem has been found! Now you are positioned to get some solutions. Wishing you all the best as you find out more about all this. I think we all come to this site not knowing much about this condition. You will pick up on the "language". I just keep an open search tab on my computer and if I don't understand something, I just google it on the web. It all starts to make sense. However, it sounds like you have the ability to contact your doctor readily so you have that in your favor. Guest guest
Hi all. Today I discovered a site www.inspire.com linked with the NORD - National Organization of Rare Diseases. One of the members was talking about a condition that has similiar symptoms as Primary Aldosteronism called PHEOCHROMOCYTOMAS. Any one heard of that? Apparently it is a tumor IN the adrenal gland. Guest guest
Thank you very much. I know the language kind of makes me feel stupid like I'm just dumb or something. I'm trying to catch on to this. I go to the endo for the 1st time today so I guess he will tell me what his mass is. My family Dr. was not familier with any of this. I will take the Evolution papers with me.
Thanks again for this site. He said something about treating me for depression, like this is all in my > > > > > > > > head I wasnt going back. My > > > > > > > > potassium/creatine ratio in my urine is 64, random 16, and creatinine 25. Thanks again Kristy > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
