Dear Mel - Thank you for hosting your site and thank you for

introducing me to Biomch-l list.

On Spinalfitness.com we now show for supertraining functional

indentification of lever systems and our example of why current

structural identificatiion of lever systems falls apart when

functionally evaluated

I like it when I can understadn and apply technology to better my

life and others that i ahve responsiblity for. I like to have

something well validated before implementation.

I kow that humans adapt an S-shape neutral spine posture. I did not

know howt this mechanically gave humans unique physical abilities

that quadrupeds do not possess.

I know that humans exist in a gravitational environment. I did not

know was there a relativity between the force of graivty and humans

adapting this S-shape.

[??? MCS]

I did not have a rational why with aging humans adapt out of the S-

shape into the characteristic C-shape and with this change why

locomotion and strenght of the humans declines

[?? MCS}.

From theoretical physics I knew that a model must contain the 4th

dimension which was the relativity between effect and cause of a time

spatial relationship that could be identified that was basis of the

formation of the original model.

[Four dimensional universes are only one of several possible models of

the universe - some models have as many as 11 dimensions. Mel Siff]

If gravity was the effect and the body the cause of the adaptation of

the S-shape posture in time with need what was the relativity between

the two. What was being gained. (another type example melanin

production to darken skin)

If gravity wa a reistance force and muscles produce force of effort

that moves body mass against gravity by fixed levers (bones) at

fulcrums (joints) to me it was evident that I was dealing with a

lever system.

As I workded with lever systems I found many erroneus teaching

present such as the 3 structural classes, The forearm flexing on the

upper arm kinesiology stated was example of 3rd class lever because

of classic FER, a wheel and axel is a first class system only, but

the biggest problem I encountered there existed no unifying

funcitional definition of a lever system.

I then sought to about to make lever systems workable and

uderstandable or communicable so everyone can begin to understand

their true nature. I would teach lever systems beginning with

children that they are a study in mutually dependent forces tha must

be followed to the end. For instance the Classic " give me a lever

and I will move the world " I would change to give me a fulcrum with

a true effort arm that can stabilize the resultant force created by

the force of the world and the force of my fixed lever and I will

move the world.

As I examined Biomech-l site, I see that others existed like me. AS

on PT comments " I have enjoyed the debate on the ICR issue. But I

must admit I have been confused and lost much of the time. I would

appreciate brief overview and basic (if possible) position stance

from each debator. I take advice in how to apply technology. " Like

this fellow I felt the same way It is for him and me and strenght

coaches, trainers that I have tried to develop force analysis

technology that is usable. I want to see in a given exercise where

all the forces are going and what is handling them.

I also see you are have felt the subjective rather then the objective

weight of lever system being used to dismiss your ideas that weight

lifting with the trunk in a bent over " flexed " position is not

recommended if you want to prevent injury to spine. I agree with you

on this but the reply by Pinder (biomech-l) on the Flat Back

Paradox I find very lacking in his evoking the name of lever system

to refute you.

[i would like to comment and assist you in understanding the relevant

biomechanics, but you will need to reword this letter much more

clearly so that I can understand what you are saying and what you

would like to know/ Mel Siff]
