I have read here that I need 4500k per day and <1500mg of NA per day. I have no idea how much K per day I have in my food and am taking 1800K in pills, how much k in pills do I need to be taking a day that is safe.

Hi, Thanks. I do have the DASH book and have started today. I'm taking 1800k per

day to stop the cramps in feet and legs.

Get a

program like FitDay and track what you eat. It will tell you how much K and Na

you're eating. By the end of two

weeks, you'll have a very good idea without further tracking. http://www.fitday.com/ If you want to do it the hard way, there

are lists of foods and their nutrient content all over the Web .

Another good program is sparkpeople.com.  you track your foods with your sodium and other levels you choose.

Or you can cook from the DASH books by till you get the hang of it. CE Grim MDGet a program like FitDay and track what you eat. It will tell you how much K and Na you're eating.
