Guest guest
Fish oils that are " molecularly distilled " are available from more than just Dr. Sears. I get mine at Trader Joe's markets. Guest guest
What is the real meaning of molecular distilled? It is only a fancy name for filtering, so beware! Serrano Ohio

Guest guest
I am just concerned that, because you use molecular distillation, that is all you need. You must make sure that the source of the oil is also good and not from a sick fish - or you can get the oils from vegetable source. I own Serrano labs and we go through testing for disease, toxins, and other things to ensure that we have good quality oils. Guest guest
Serrano: << What is the real meaning of molecular distilled? <It is only a fancy name for filtering, so beware! Filtering and distilling are two different things completely. [Mel Siff: Neither process is especially technically demanding or special. Normal, non vacuum distilling means the heating of any fluid and separating out the different fractions (components) of the condensate as they liquefy at different temperatures. Filtration relies on different types of mechanical " strainers " to drain off the fluid and leave behind any solid or toxic particulates in the filter. Some of these " filters " use substances like diatomaceous earth to molecularly bind some of the toxic materials. " Molecular " or " short path " distillation, really is high vacuum distillation used to separate mixtures of organic or silicon compounds, most of which will not tolerate prolonged heating without excessive structural change or decomposition. As opposed to conventional atmospheric and low pressure packed distilling towers that use packing, these high vacuum stills use the heat of condensation as the prime means for radiant heat emission to the surface film on the evaporator. The path between evaporator and condenser is totally unobstructed. With the short time spent in the distilling system and lower distilling temperatures used, thermal damage to the organic fluids is greatly reduced.] Simon Pitt, B'Ham

Guest guest
So, are you warning that molecular distillation does not separate heavy metals and fish oil?
