I wrote an article on Sudan's rich aromatic culture.

The perfumery techniques and the ingredients the Sudanese use, is like a slice

from the history of perfumery.

Ever used Prunus mahaleb in tincture or the oil?

Ever wanted to capture the lovely scent of burning frankincense, and other

resins and woods to give another dimension to an incense accord? The techniques

used by the Sudanese perfumers gave me the idea for " Scented smoke enfleurage. "

Dear Sophia.

That blog post brought me to my knees with weakness because it

was so incredibly detailed, informative and comprehensive! It

should be required reading for anyone interested in aromatics.

Thank you so much for your dedication to the aromatics of Africa,

I don't know of anyone else writing with such devotion, and I

truly appreciate your effort.

Dear Anya

Thank you, it is my pleasure. Writing it was a journey in itself, and often I

was moved to tears by what I discovered. I will keep on exploring and digging

and sharing. Africa has so much to offer.
