I occasionally get the sharp electric pains in my hands especially (in the base of my hand). The best way to discover CMT I think is through and EMG / nerve velocity tests. I had one done - it is not pleasant but then again it did not last long either. It was interesting and definitely conclusive for me. I would suggest checking into it with a neurologist. I do not know any on Maui but if you want I can send a message out through my classmates in Oahu and see if they know anyone. For headaches, it is interesting as a few months ago there were a lot of posts from a parent whose little girl (I forget her name but I seem to keep thinking of the name Caitlin) was diagnosed with CMT and had shooting head pain. She had the MRIs too. But with kids I think it is hard to pinpoint pain and such. Anyway, just to let you know that headaches seem to be common for some people too.
