Guest guest
Hi Goran, Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice. Like your son's experience, Norman's right lung is partially visible on the xray with left lung slightly better. We've just had a blood test, urine test, stool test and cough swab and we've been told to wait 5 days for all the culture to grow. His urine test after 1 day came back INCOMPLETE (as in no growth as yet) so will see what day 5 picks up. We haven't been offered anything like a " bronchoscopy " - I need to find out what it is and what is FIBRO?? Doctors not revealing much with regards it being serious or not, although they have said that as he has not had laboured breathing and not required oxygen, it is good. His blood test CRP (C-Reactive Protein) was above 160 and WCC 6.0 (can't find what this stands for). As a matter of fact, Norman visited a farm with his carers about two weeks before this. I guess I need to wait till tomorrow (possibly Mon) to find out if they can identify the bug which has caused it. I also wonder if it was viral would it also cause the white cell count to increase? How is your son now, is he in the clear now - I hope so? How long did it take for him to recover? emily > > Hi everyone, > > Norman was admitted in hospital early this morning and results of bloods > indicated increased levels of white blood cells and a chest xray > confirmed that he has an infection on his lungs with the right side much > more affected. > > Has anyone else been in this situation?
