Guest guest
Looks like they finally got the message from Subway. I have an app on my iPhone from Livestrong that gives me the nutritional value of just about everything out there. It's part of the Daily plate portion of the Livestrong website. I can look up anything on a major chain's menu and get the nutritional value. I think the iphone app is $2.99. My cousin showed me The Daily Plate website over Thanksgiving and I've been using it ever since. It's free. There's a pay upgrade but I haven't paid for it and haven't needed it. Once you get the things you eat regularly in there it really cruises. It also shows the break down in terms of protein, fat and carbs in a daily percentage. That'll open your eyes. You can even enter in coffee and if you use it creamers. It's just about time Taco Bell came to the party. I'm still working out of my car. Every now and then I end up out when I thought I'd be back at the house do make a meal. When I need to stop and grab something I go to Rubio's and get a couple of soft tacos. 2 Healthy Mex Mahi Mahi tacos come in at around 360 calories, 30g protein 6 g fat. Hard to go wrong on that. > Just curious to see who has a Taco Bell in their area and if anyone > has seen the commercials for the Drive Thru Diet they've been > pimping tonight. I don't know what to think! I shake my head. lol > > I'm not a huge fan of Taco Bell but it really does say something > about what you can eat with a calorie restriction and still lose > " weight " . > > I haven't seen the commercial before tonight. Guest guest
I've often eaten just 1 of the meximelts as a healthier option. The only problem with many of the 7 menu items I think is that they are usually eaten in " 2's " , so even with only 340 calories, it might take 2 to fill you up. It would be great if they offered a healthy black beans option like they do with pintos and cheese, and then you could get one of these wraps at 340c and a bowl of black beans for maybe another 100 c and be filled up enough to where it feels like a meal. But yeah, I think it's great that they're making this a strategy, when they used to only focus on communicating that their drive-thru is open til 4 am! lol > > > Looks like they finally got the message from Subway. Guest guest
>when they used to only focus on communicating that their drive-thru is open til 4 am! Fourthmeal!! The first time I saw that on a sign I was like, what?? Americans aren't fat enough? Now they're encouraging us to come to Taco Bell after midnight for an extra meal? :-P It's good to see them following the Subway lead and putting a little more emphasis on health vs stuffing your face with grease and cheese at 2am. Guest guest
I saw that commercial. It was almost a parody of the first Subway/Jarod commercials. Unfortunately, I think they are serious. Subject: Drive thru diet - say what? To: bodyforlifewomensclub2 Date: Monday, December 28, 2009, 11:04 PM  Just curious to see who has a Taco Bell in their area and if anyone has seen the commercials for the Drive Thru Diet they've been pimping tonight.  I don't know what to think! I shake my head. lol  I'm not a huge fan of Taco Bell but it really does say something about what you can eat with a calorie restriction and still lose " weight " .  I haven't seen the commercial before tonight. Must be a New Year's ad thing.  Just in case there's no Taco Bell around you - http://www.drivethr udiet.com/    Liza
