Hey there! I too am one of the Monday (tomorrow) starters.

I've connected with a few of you and plan to email to keep one another

accountable - this is great!

A little about me:

I'm 36 and a new mom. I have a 4 mo old named . I did BFL about 10 years

ago and had fantastic results. Then, I did it again about 3 years ago prior to

my wedding. What I'm learning is that I am a big yo yoer - and well, I'm done. I

did connect with this group about 3 years ago - and connected with another

BFLer. We emailed nightly and held one another accountable - this was great for

me!

Prior to pregnancy, I was 150. But, after the first BFL round (10 years ago)

until 2 years ago, I weighed 135 and then gained the 15 lbs about a year before

getting preggers. I gained over 40 lbs during pregnancy and am currently 185.

So, you can see that I have lost little past this initial loss of when you, uh,

have the baby :(.

So, I plan to do this in two phases - but, as Dr. Val noted...for LIFE. I'm

really done with yo yoing. My ultimate goal is to get back to 130-135, but I

realize it will take a while...and I'm ready :) and willing to keep it off.

Phase I (Jan - March)- to get back to my pre baby weight - 150.

Phase II (April - June) - to get to 130-135.

I am 5'7.

So, that's all for now! I will use this group and the few of you starting

tomorrow that plan to email with me nightly for support and accountabilty! Thank

you all!!!

Theresa, that's a great resolution! And running a marathon in the summer--well,

for ANYONE to run that far sounds crazy to me, but apparently it's not, so I say

go for it! I've found, through years of both successful and unsuccessful tries,

that having a big goal is really helpful. Having something specific to work for

has always kept me motivated to work hard and not make excuses to skip a day

(both with fitness AND with my music), so sign up for it, and we'll help cheer

you on as you work towards your goal. :-)

Carol, P90X is a program with both resistance and cardio workouts. It's a

butt-kicking good time, for sure. The workout videos are fun--so fun that my

husband, who swore he'd never do strength training, has even joined me and stuck

with it--and you feel awesome when you're done. It's got a bunch of different

workouts, to mix it up, and he's got a diet plan included too, but I don't use

that. So if you want something fun and tough, I'd recommend checking it out.

Hey Traci, if you thought it was cold last night, wait until tomorrow! LOL!

I'm in Denver.

I did P90X last year and really enjoyed it! And after a while, I subbed out

the cardio/yoga to do two days a week HIIT and one day a week outside run.

It worked really well. Love the Legs & Back workout!

I would love to email. P90X is a cardio/weight DVD set. It is a 12 week

program that rotates through workouts. I don't know why I love it so much,

I think it is the variety. It can also be modified as you progress. For

example, my totally buff husband who lifts all the time, does it with me and

he is sore, too!

Kind of pricey, but totally worth it (for me at least).

Hello all,

I have been a lingerer here for a couple of years. I have BFL packs from

the first year (if you can believe it, I remember when Porter was so

popular!) I get the packs every year and have never sent it in. I have had

great results with BFL just about every time I do a challenge, but the

problem, as you can see, is that I have to keep doing these 12 week

" challenges " . Hmmmm. So my 2010 and beyond resolution is to not do another

challenge!!! Make this a true " Body For Life " and remove the " 12-week

challenge " !

I am a 36 year old mother of three, 7, 3 and 8 months. I have lost 35

pounds in the last 12 weeks and have about 20 or so more to go. I am 5'8

and 162. The day I delivered my 8 month old (8 months and 4 days ago) I

weighed 250 pounds. I was so embarrassed, I still want to throw up when I

think about that weight.

I have been doing P90X for the last 14 or so weeks. I love it. I am

starting to add running in place of the cardio days as I am considering a

marathon in the summer. I want to do something bigger than me. . .something

that is so outside my safety net. Crazy?

I really love this group. I read every post and look forward to strings

like this. During down times I keep checking because I am so afraid I have

dropped off the emails ;) .

All of you are inspirations to me and really keep me going. I enjoy reading

your thoughts and what has worked for you and not. I hope this keeps going

all year. Thank you all!!!

I agree with what Traci said.

By the way, you can buy it in Walmart or from beachbody.com - however, beachbody

is infamous for imposing all sorts of other products onto their customers (their

vitamins, their own protein supplement, you will never hear the end of it). I

ordered once from them and they kept mailing me supplements and when I returned

them, they never refunded the money. Drove me nuts. I would say buy P90X

anywhere but from Beachbody. Fitness stores carry it as well.

Great! What's your email? I'm emailing for accountability with one other gal on

this - I'll now email you both! My email is cdlavoie@.... Send me your

stats!

Thanks for the info on P90X. I looked it up and it looks great. I just might

need to get it.

Looking forward to holding one another accountable!

Thanks!

Hmmmmmmm, I have never had any problems with beachbody, and I have lots of

their videos. Just be prepared to say NO to the extras!

But my recommendation is Craigslist.
