ok this may sound crazy but all my research talks were booked for next 2 weeksWed - LA, CAThurs SF, CASat back to DCSun Baton Rouge, LAWed back to DCSo this is work travel. I find I do good on vacation travel but tough on conference travel as speakers are often taken to dinners (late) and meetings start early. Where are you traveling to, Judy? Hope you have a great time! I'm finding it's easier to work out and eat better on vacation than when at home! This has been a real springboard back to an upward spiral for me. I've had great luck with pilates and yoga as they require little room and no equipment. Bands are great too! I wish they didn't bother my hands so much! Cheers,

I think in the public health world all the focus is on obesity and yet they are seeing more and more that being active (even small amounts) can be so beneficial health wise. Judy, this sounds FASCINATING! Not sure if your work is company confidential or not, but if not, I'd love to see your Powerpoints/materials if you wouldn't mind uploading to our files section?How cool that you get to get to do public speaking on such interesting subject matter! I work for research institute affiliated with a University so it is public. I will post my slides when done but they are to econ/academic audience so may be a bit yawn.........the main thing is in all of the studies on the effects of obesity, they never control for physical activity and i show it is an important variable.jTo:

What I love about this is that it implies that while we might not see immediate weight loss when we exercise (sometimes it takes a month or two) we *can* experience other very real benefits nonetheless! It's very uplifting info!
