I find I do good on vacation travel but tough on conference travel as speakers are often taken to dinners (late) and meetings start early. I am going to bring yoga basics and bands.............judyFrom: Pink Pussycat To: exercisevideos Sent: Friday, October 31, 2008 1:57:52 PMSubject: Judy / travel Where are you traveling to, Judy? Hope you have a great time! I'm finding it's easier to work out and eat better on vacation than when at home! This has been a real springboard back to an upward spiral for me. I've had great luck with pilates and yoga as they require little room and no equipment. Bands are great too! I wish they didn't bother my hands so much! Guest guest
SF - Paper on the Medical Cost of Physical InactivityLA - How Firm's Employee Assistance Programs can assist in treatment of domestic violence.Louisiana = Factors and Determinants of ExcerciseAS you can see while I am an economist - I do alot of research on Exercise. I think in the public health world all the focus is on obesity and yet they are seeing more and more that being active (even small amounts) can be so beneficial health wise. Yes the weight will come off but first glucose level regulate, lipids go down etc.. It is kinda cool.....................judy s who loves her work except for travel!! (mainly because I can't take my dogs with me and that costs me a fortune!!)To: exercisevideos Sent: Friday, October 31, 2008 2:27:54 PMSubject: Re: Judy / travel Oh you poor thing! UG! Guest guest
Judy, this sounds FASCINATING! Not sure if your work is company confidential or not, but if not, I'd love to see your Powerpoints/materials if you wouldn't mind uploading to our files section? How cool that you get to get to do public speaking on such interesting subject matter! I work for an insurance company, but our presentations are on the exciting topics of long term disability, voluntary life products, etc *yawn*Judy S wrote: SF - Paper on the Medical Cost of Physical InactivityLA - How Firm's Employee Assistance Programs can assist in treatment of domestic violence.Louisiana = Factors and Determinants of ExcerciseAS you can see while I am an economist - I do alot of research on Exercise. Guest guest
I work for research institute affiliated with a University so it is public. I will post my slides when done but they are to econ/academic audience so may be a bit yawn.........the main thing is in all of the studies on the effects of obesity, they never control for physical activity and i show it is an important variable.jTo: exercisevideos Sent: Saturday, November 1, 2008 11:52:47 PMSubject: Re: Judy / travel Judy, this sounds FASCINATING! Guest guest
What I love about this is that it implies that while we might not see immediate weight loss when we exercise (sometimes it takes a month or two) we *can* experience other very real benefits nonetheless! It's very uplifting info!
