Guest guest
Boy this thread got complicated! I will try to address several people at once. Mixed platter comming up! Mango melange is a reconstitution of the scent of Mango sold by White Lotus. It's mainly citrus plus several green modifiers and traces of spice and wood. Cedarmoss might not be a wood but if it smells woody it's good enough for me. I have used several spices and roots to make woody accords. If it smells like wood it belongs in this thread Keep in mind that cedarmoss is considered as a more potent irritant than oakmoss and a possible carcinogen. There are IFRA restrictions but don't know to which degree exactly (Same goes for calamus which I refrain from using although the scent is so alluring). In fact I read in a journal that they banned oakmoss by accident because in the tests they run Agarwood can vary dramatically and it's too costly. My goal is to create a badget wood-base but thanks for the analytical info. (, Goblins AND Godzilla in the same post??? Go easy on us mate ) Wood nymphs vs wood NYMPHOS!!! Guest guest
> > Hi " lakavalio " , > as far as the Palo Santo essential oil concerns: In which European country do you live? > In Germany there is a very good seller and distiller of essential oils, called Maienfelser Naturkosmetik (www. Maienfelser-naturkosmetik.com). There Palo Santo oil is available, 5 ml à 12 € from a little distillery in Peru (order number 3657) and 2 ml à 12 € from their own distillation of Palo Santo wood (order number 4862, unfortunately their online-catalogue is not yet complete, a print-catalogue is available, in German). > By the way, Muhuhu is also available there... > Greetings > Angelika Weigand > I live in Greece. It is usually much cheaper for me to order from eu countries. When I order from US stores shipping charges can almost double the cost, although they tend to vary (which I don't understand). I will check the page you suggested but seems there is no English option. This should make it a bit tricky for me...
Guest guest
> Hi Rich, > thank you for your information. I looked on White Lotus too. The recipe für > Mango Melange is indeed not to be found, though listed, perhaps because > sells the mélange in his shop. Otherwise he is very generous in > publishing his recipes. > Bye Angelika Hello Angelika, RIch, did publish a mango formula on the website at one time. I'm not sure if it is the same one as the mango melange that he is currently selling, but I copied the recipe and here it is. It is in ounces, it might have to be scaled down if you'd like to make it. And there are some very exotic ingredients that I've only seen on the White Lotus website. 1/2 oz Fir Balsam abs. 1/4 oz White Champa CO2 or eo 3/4 oz Jasmine Sambac 1/4 oz Mukhalat 3/4 oz Tonka Bean abs 1 oz Champa leaf eo 1 oz Ylang Complete eo 1/2 oz Lavender Seville abs 1 oz Mango Melange Now that I've written it down, I think it was meant to be a mango perfume perhaps, because I see that it includes the Mango Melange already
