Guest guest
Hi everyone, My name is and I am new to the world of Natural and Botanical Perfumery. Years ago I gave away all of my synthetic perfumes when I became aware of the detrimental health factors that are attributable to the ingredients in mainstream fragrances. About a year ago, I became interested in perfumes once more. I put the whole 'synthetic' issue to the back of my mind but eventually it just wouldn't quit nagging at me that using these products was just not a good idea on so many levels. I got to reading about natural perfumes on the Scent Hive blog and that's where my obsession began. Since then I have purchased samples from Velvet & Sweet Pea Purrfumery and also Roxana Illuminated Perfumes. I love them both very much for different reasons. I have been very keen to try out many other artisan houses but finances are rather limited at the moment. I have begun saving $30 per week so that I may learn the art of natural perfumery and acquire my own high grade perfumery oils, absolutes and CO2's. I am very keen to learn as much as I can about this precious art and spend a great proportion of my time thinking about different combinations and smells that I want to create. I am very keen to learn which oils are the best to start out with. I would like to use only the best oils available and as I live in Australia, would find it preferable to purchase as many high quality products locally as is possible. I am very interested in reading articles from this forum as I spend a lot of time on the internet trying to find valuable information on all things relating to natural perfume. Thank you very much and I look forward to the learning experience. Sincerely, Matheson
Guest guest
Welcome, ! You've certainly found the right place... I just adore this forum, but I'm new too, so I'll leave it to those who are more experienced to guide you on which oils to start with. Plus, I understand that many members here are based in Australia, so I'm sure that great suggestions on local suppliers shall be forthcoming... :-D
