CE Grim MD

Depending on the state you are in, there are different guidelines to be eligible for Medicaid. For instance, in Oklahoma, you have to be: blind, disabled by Social Security, over 65, pregnant or have a minor child at home. Those only make you categorically related...then you have to meet the income and resource requirements.

I know other states like Kansas and California have less stringent requirements for categorical relationship.

Hey Juli, i lived in OK for 10 years. 3 of our 6 kids born there! My favorite

place. most states dropped dental for adults. here in

AZ they dont cover adults dental, but the dental thru medicaid for kids is

great.

You can get disabled by SS by having a bad back. Or being a drug addict or alcoholic. Or by being too fat. And the topper is, they usually get more money per month than the people who worked their entire lives get from SS when they retire. I have a cousin who has been on SS disability since he was 36 because he has a "bad back". His back doesn't seem to bother him when he plays golf, though. This is a big reason SS is going broke.

Like

it or not, Medicaid is welfare because it is funded by general tax collections.  Medicare is an insurance program because it

is funded (in theory) by individual contributions to a Medicare account.  In fact, the premium for Medicare Part B, the

physician part, is paid monthly by the recipient.

Medicaid,

BTW, is state and federally funded.

It is pretty hard to get disability. It took me almost two years. I'm sure there are people abusing the system but I doubt it's the majority.

Man! or Woman! OK is tough. How do you get disabled by Social Security. Do they run over you or what?

Man! or Woman! OK is tough. How do you get disabled by Social Security. Do they run over you or what?CE Grim MDDepending on the state you are in, there are different guidelines to be eligible for Medicaid. For instance, in Oklahoma, you have to be: blind, disabled by Social Security, over 65, pregnant or have a minor child at home. Those only make you categorically related...then you have to meet the income and resource requirements. I know other states like Kansas and California have less stringent requirements for categorical relationship. Butonce you have a stroke or hEart failure or need dialysis it you maybe covered. Makes more sense to cover Rx of BP BEFORE these happen. Like you and I cover HIV treAtment. We need a better HTN lobby. I mean I agree w dr Grim. What a posted wasn't clear.

I read the same info as you, Dr Grim. But then I don't get my 'facts' from fox news

Hmm not in my part of the US.Did you not read the last Bush tax plan the Republicans just renewed. The wealthiest got the biggest tax breaks. Many will pay none. I am in Miami now and am amazed at all the yachts (which BTW have special tax breaks as I recall). Florida lawmakers give yacht buyers a sales tax break The wealthy pay more in both actual taxes AND percentage. the dems perpetuate this myth knowing their party stays uninformed and let it be believed. truth is, the wealthy, like YOU AND ME, got a few tax BREAKS, but still pay 45%. . . thats HALF their income. they pay a hell alot more!>So you like it that the rich are taxed less. I don't.>>CE Grim MD>>>> I have no problem my tax dollars going to you as YOU are who its for. . . . . .but i am not rich and yet i do not believe those who are should pay MORE in taxes. They worked to get it and i, nor anyone else is not entitled to it. . . . .sorry a bit of politics there>> >> >> >> >I worked since I was 13. I saw work as freedom. Loved what a paycheck gave me! I make 46 dollars too much to get Medicaid. I'm sure that's no accident. If social security gave me 46 less then I would have that extra 20% , that Medicare doesn't cover, paid. In Boston I got Medicaid but not in Texas. I did my monthly shopping today and thought of you. Thanks. I get so flustered when ppl make comments that I become speechless. Which frustrates me more haha

Seems you should be on Medicaid. If so all medical and dental care will be paid for.

Next time check out clerk makes rude comments report them to supervisor.

I took my DASH list to the grocer today. I was surprised how much of it was food I already like. I try to limit gluten so that cuts out some. My problem is being able to get to the store for fresh food. I hadn't been able to shop for the last three weeks due to dizziness and fatigue. So I buy tinned veggies and rinse them off. And frozen berries. I love berries. My grandmother used to have us eat berries anytime we had a belly ache. Not sure why it works but it does.

And don't forget to DASH. WILL Save ur life when u run out ofMeds prob. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension
