Guest guest
I am currently having major issues with dizziness and " sick " episodes. Since my Doctors won't listen to me I thought I'd post to see if anyone has any suggestions. I am a 48 year old male who was was diagnosed with Primary Hyperaldosteronism from Bilateral Adrenal Hyperplasia about 4 years ago after 20 years of high blood pressure. I also have 2 nodules on the right adrenal gland. Lately, I have developed a problem where, when I bend down or squat, then get back up, I get extremely dizzy. If I do it a number of times, I also get nauseous and sweaty. Here's a typical episode that happened yesterday: I did some work (bending over) outside and became agitated, dizzy and nauseous. After a few hours I came into the house and had a cold drink. Soon afterwards I was extremely cold (shivering). After a while, I decided to warm myself up with a cup of tea. After I finished my tea I became extremely warm and flushed (no sweating) and felt the need to vomit (but didn't). Then, within about 60 minutes I was cold again. Within a few hours everything settled out and I was no longer cold or nauseous. Today I am extremely hungry and have a migraine. This is typical of what I experience after doing work where I bend over or squat. I went to my primary care physician about this and he referred me to my Endo. I saw the Endo this past Thursday and he basically referred me back to my primary care guy. In the meantime, they did a 24 hour urine collection to test for pheo, and measured high normetanephrines (~1100) and slightly high metanephrines (~285). The Endo wants to rerun the 24 hour urine because he says that these numbers are suspect because other catecholimines were not high. He said that this might be a side effect of the Spironolactone that I take (50 mg 2x). I'll also point out that my Dad had similar issues in the 1970s and was told that he had 's. I was very young at the time and don't remember much, but I do know that he took Spiro. I am very frustrated as I am getting nowhere with my Doctors. Is anybody in the group experiencing any thing like what I have described? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
