Guest guest
I have the Blendtec- look it up...I did a lot of research between the vita mixer and the Blendtec. I use my blender all the time! SO worth the money! Monika To: bodyforlifewomensclub2 From: chezdiz@... Date: Mon, 8 Mar 2010 07:51:52 -0800 Subject: VitaMix Along the same lines as the rice cooker.... what about a Vita Mix - (or did we have this convo on this group already?). Anyone have one - love it worth the $$ - or just go for the garden variety $100 blender? I currently have an awesome Cuisinart Immersion blender - but I broke it last week - after 2 years of really good use. I have found that typical blenders around $150 tend to burn out after about 1-2 years - so am considering investing my kids college funds in a VitaMix. Open to opinions. Guest guest
I own the vita-mix but it has largely been an unhappy experience for me. Dealing with their customer service has been a total nightmare. I have had to send it in for repairs twice. Every time I use it to make hummus or any other kind of thicker consistency product the machine shuts off automatically after about 1 and a half minutes of blending and won't turn back on for at least 10mins afterwards. It is very bothersome and annoying. Customer Service has told me that this is " normal " and the machine does this to protect the motor from overheating. Something I spent that much money on should WORK the way it was advertised to work EVERY TIME. I am going to sell the Vita-mix on Ebay and order a Blendtec Blender. ASAP. I've done lots of research on the Blendtec and now I wish I would have gotten that one first. The things I love about Blendtec. No reamer, the blender doesn't need it to suck food into the blades. No second container for grinding grains. Fits under the counter top(vita mix does no t). All around I think it's a better machine. My sister who also bought a vita mix at the same time I did has already switched from Vita-mix to blendtec. That says something to me for sure.. Cat S. Guest guest
Wow, very interesting, thanks for that input, I went to the Blendtec website, but will have to do more research about purchasing in Canada. I like that you don't need a separate container for dry foods as I would like to make flours etc. Also good info about the hummus as I would be making it regularly. I did notice that Blendtec does demos at Costco - so I imagine they would be a better deal there than online? Liz > > I have the Blendtec- look it up...I did a lot of research between the vita > mixer and the Blendtec. I use my blender all the time! SO worth the money! > > Monika > > > > > > To: bodyforlifewomensclub2 > From: chezdiz@... > Date: Mon, 8 Mar 2010 07:51:52 -0800 > Subject: VitaMix > > > > > > Along the same lines as the rice cooker.... what about a Vita Mix - (or did > we have this convo on this group already?). > > Anyone have one - love it worth the $$ - or just go for the garden variety > $100 blender? > > I currently have an awesome Cuisinart Immersion blender - but I broke it > last week - after 2 years of really good use. I have found that typical > blenders around $150 tend to burn out after about 1-2 years - so am > considering investing my kids college funds in a VitaMix. > > Open to opinions. > > Thanks! > > __________________________________________________________ > The new Internet Explorer® 8 - Faster, safer, easier. Guest guest
Yes...about Costco demos. I bought mine at Coscto- it is a bit cheaper and you receive a longer warranty as well. Guest guest
I have a Bullet Express. It chops, grates, has a juicer, and mixes. It has been absolutely wonderful. Guest guest
It was worth it for me! I got one free after entering a contest, but had I not gotten one free, I would have set aside the funds to purchase one. It's a good investment towards the health of my family! ______________________________ Brown Photography www.andreabrownphotography.com > Along the same lines as the rice cooker.... what about a Vita Mix - > (or did we have this convo on this group already?). > > Anyone have one - love it worth the $$ - or just go for the garden > variety $100 blender? > > I currently have an awesome Cuisinart Immersion blender - but I > broke it last week - after 2 years of really good use.
