Guest guest
The choice is yours. In the choice is your life or your salt. CE Grim MDV-8 Juice and Vodka! Wow! I have to stay away from any and all alchol. I can smell it and it will throw me into a migraine. Beer is the worst (I think it is the hops). I actually drink at least one 12 oz can of V-8 juice everyday and some days I will drink three or four. I crave the stuff. Unfortunately I do not drink the low-sodium kind. I have had this horrible craving for salt for several years now that I just can't fight. I have eaten so many things that I don't even like and I can't seem to help it. The V-8 juice helps with this a lot. Strange as it may sound, at least now that I have been doing my research and have joined this group, I know I am not crazy! Hope everyone has a good day! Guest guest
lol. Vodka as medicine...hehe. I love it in my V8 too, but i miss my pickles. I will have to try celery as an alternative. Terri - as for the salt craving, I had it too. I was eating pickles and salty corn chips like a crazy man. even dumping salt into the palm of my hand and lapping it up on occassion. But, I feel like i have broken that with DASH. I think it isnt salt we need but potassium. Try the low sodium V8's. Drink 3-4 of those a day and see what happens to that salt craving. It is working for me...so far, although I have only been really dashing for a few days. I still feel better and have less salt cravings. ============================================================================45-Male-Caucasian, 5'9"- 230lbs, PA Diagnosed 2007 Suspected Hyperplasia-No tumors on CT - No AVS.Meds: 50mg Spiro, 25mg HCTZ, 40meg Potassium, 2400mg Calcium, 1000mg Magnesium, 100,000UI Vit D (weekly), 40mg OmeprazoleSide effects: Gynecomastia, stomach inflammationOther Diags: GERD, Hiatal Hernia, Metabolic Syndrome - PreDiabetic, Secondary Hyperparathyroidism caused by Renal calcium leak, Bone Cyct in left Femoral Head and Pelvis. At least, try to mix low sodium and original!!! Thank you again and again, Dr. Grim. Now it's my almost everyday ritual low sodium bloody mary with celery stick!!!! After all, I am Russian, vodka works as a medicine for everything for us :-) Many thanks, NataliaTo: "hyperaldosteronism " <hyperaldosteronism >Sent: Fri, April 29, 2011 9:13:39 AMSubject: Re: New here and looking for hope! V-8 Juice and Vodka! Guest guest
, I have to tell you that I laughed when I read an earlier post of yours about eating jars of pickles! I made my 19 year old daughter come into the room and read your post. She used to get so mad at me for eating dill pickles. I would sit down to watch a few minutes of tv in the evening and have a bowl of pickles as my snack! Of course I wasn't hungry either. I have never been much of a snacker. I ate them for months and at all hours of the day and night. Was nothing for me to eat a large jar everyday. I moved on to anything soaked in soy sauce after the pickle phase passed. I am learning now that salt is not my friend. I just have to learn how to control it. I have figured out in the past few weeks that if I keep my K level up I don't crave the salt. Boy, what a journey this is! > > ============================================================================ > 45-Male-Caucasian, 5'9 " - 230lbs, PA Diagnosed 2007 Suspected Hyperplasia-No tumors on CT - No AVS. > Meds: 50mg Spiro, 25mg HCTZ, 40meg Potassium, 2400mg Calcium, 1000mg Magnesium, 100,000UI Vit D (weekly), 40mg Omeprazole > Side effects: Gynecomastia, stomach inflammation > Other Diags: GERD, Hiatal Hernia, Metabolic Syndrome - PreDiabetic, Secondary Hyperparathyroidism caused by Renal calcium leak, Bone Cyct in left Femoral Head and Pelvis. Guest guest
I use to buy the Jumbo pickles. I couldnt help but eat a few at a time. Even in the middle of the night I would snack on them when letting my dog outside. Craziness. I thought it was the HCTZ making e depleted on salt or something. Maybe it was. My blood level sof sodium have been getting lower everytime they were tested. Since i stop the HCTZ a few days ago I am not so pathetically thirsty. My BP has been great all day long. Just checked it again and it was 114/71 with a pulse of 82. I cant wait to see my doc in the morning to discuss what i am doing...thanks to Dr. Grim. ============================================================================45-Male-Caucasian, 5'9"- 230lbs, PA Diagnosed 2007 Suspected Hyperplasia-No tumors on CT - No AVS.Meds: 50mg Spiro, 25mg HCTZ, 40meg Potassium, 2400mg Calcium, 1000mg Magnesium, 100,000UI Vit D (weekly), 40mg OmeprazoleSide effects: Gynecomastia, stomach inflammationOther Diags: GERD, Hiatal Hernia, Metabolic Syndrome - PreDiabetic, Secondary Hyperparathyroidism caused by Renal calcium leak, Bone Cyct in left Femoral Head and Pelvis.
