Guest guest
Today was my first LBWO. I had to stop during the lunges. I have iffy knees so they were really uncomfortable. I am looking for an alternate exercise to target the Hamstrings. I already have deadlifts as part of my WO but was wondering if standing hamstring curls with ankle weights would be enough. I have adjustable ankle weights that go from 1-10 pounds. I can also double them up to total 15 pounds. Would a bridge work the hamstrings? It seems to target the glutes also. TIA for any advice!! Guest guest
You can use a ball and lay on the floor. Lift your butt off the floor and bring the ball in and out slowly. This will get your hammies. You can also alternate legs when you get a better balance which comes with just doing it. Also to increase the intensity of the Roman deadlifts do them with one leg. So basically you lift one leg behind you while going down to your feet. Just make sure to focus so you can keep your balance. Guest guest
You might also try stationary lunges, so you are not moving in and out of the lunge. I wouldn't use ankle weights for lunges. You might hold those weights in your hands instead. If you don't have a ball, you can rest your feet on a step, bench, or stool for the bridge work to target the hamstrings. And if you do one leg at a time with the other leg extended in the air, youch. On Wed, Jul 2, 2008 at 7:59 AM, Michele Templeman wrote: > You can use a ball and lay on the floor.
