Guest guest
Being recently diagnosed with SLE, I have been told to avoid wheat and Glutens inmy diet. I haven't had a phycisian yet to sit down and even explain Lupus to me in detail.Exactly what is a GLUTEN, and what effect does it have on my body with SLE? I know this sounds silly, but the internet and rooms are the only places I have had any answers to my millions of questions. Thanks, Judi
Guest guest
Hi Judi, Our website will explain everything for you - gluten, gluten sensitivity, symptoms, the gluten-free diet, etc. http://glutenfreeworks.com/gluten-disorders SLE is caused by an immune reaction. Gluten in wheat, barley, rye and oats elicits immune reactions (inflammation). A possible long term consequence of chronic immune reactions in the body is that the immune system begins to target everything, including the body's own tissues. Gluten is a huge trigger, so removing it can decrease the inflammation. It's important to be checked for celiac disease - the website page I listed above will explain why. Hope this helps! - Libonati GlutenFreeWorks.comhttp://www.glutenfreeworks.comTel.
