Keep at least as low as 1500. Would not worry about K ESP if ur K has been low in past. Tell ur dr u r DASHING as he may have never heard of it. Recommend u start with the 14 day trial. Watch ur BP AS THAT is the manor way to monitor progressTiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension

Hi all,

I was reading some of the articles about the DASH diet and just got the books. I noticed that there are a few different recommended maximum sodium intake levels. As someone with PA, should I am for 1500 mg sodium per day, or higher/lower? Is it safe to consume a very low amount of sodium while taking spironolactone?

I'm also confused about my daily intake of potassium. How much potassium should I be consuming a day? I'm on 25 mg of Spironolactone per day.

Thanks,

Kathy
