Guest guest
When I just want to read some gossip, I go over to getbig.com. This is some of the latest: Weider Publications suing Oxygen Magazine 09/02: Weider is suing Oxygen Magazine, Musclemag's sister magazine, claiming that Oxygen copies its magazine, Muscle & Fitness Hers. Apparently, the Weider Publications objects to various likeness of Oxygen over Weider's Publications, including style, cover lines, color backgrounds, etc. Actually, this is quite amusing given that magazines catering to fitness enthusiasts is on the rise, and apparently, someone has encroached on someone else's turf. Is there not enough room for everybody? Apparently not. We shall see the outcome of this later. (Source: Musclemag Magazine). **** I find this amazing at this point in time. Why waste money on attorneys when you're getting ready to unload the publication? If I remember correctly, Oxygen was published before M & F Hers. ly I can't imagine copying anything from a Weider magazine. If it's true Oxygen must be desperate. Just yesterday I visited a 'used magazine' shop, in reality an antiquarian magazine dealer. Sparse copies of Irongame publications, just a few Strength & Healths from 1960/1962 and early Weider publications. First thought was those old 35 cents magazines now going for $14.95 apiece: sure wished I'd saved several collections over the years. Weider suing anyone is as hilarious and ironic. Does that mean he's also going to sue the gay porno mags that imitate those rags of the past that used to be featured right along with his muscle mags in the smoke shops of the 60s?
