Guest guest
This morning I did workout 1 of Tamilee Webb's I Want Those Buns and it went really well!! My cardio endurance and strength has improved tremendously since I first tried this video probably a year ago or so. It is only a 15 minute workout but she is non-stop so not only are you working the quads, glutes, hamstrings and more really hard but because they're big muscles it has a cardio component too. I could not make it through this without pausing the DVD last year. This time it was no problem and if I'd had more time I would have at least have attempted workout 2! That said, her forward lunge, kick your opposite leg then use that leg for a back lunge then do it all again on the other side without pausing thing always gets me messed up but this time I was less messed up at least. I think maybe it moves a little quick for me for now so my form gets off and then I'm afraid of hurting a knee or other joint. It isn't hard, it just requires coordination and better motor planning than I obviously have! I'm probably overthinking how to do it instead of just letting my motor memory kick in and just do it, my step aerobics teacher/friend accused me of that more than once in step classes. I've got an hour and a half before the kids come home from school so after I get some chores taken care of I might put in another video and do something else quick (I see 's posts about getting on the treadmill multiple times a day before my eyes). I filmed an evaluation at my son's OT's office today and it was really interesting plus I have to admit, it felt really good to be on my side of the camera this time instead of where that frantic mom was sitting... I was there, in her place almost 5 years ago except it feels like forever with the extreme differences in our lives between then and now. She seemed really open to the OT's trying to educate her and calm her too and I think she and her daughter will benefit tremendously from it. I hope so anyway. I'm doing another taping next Friday. I really enjoy being there and have thought before about going back to school and getting certified to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or go all the way and do the master's in OT but it is a lot of money and time and I'm not sure I'm up for either though once again, I've got the bug so we'll see how long it lasts. My son's OT has already offered to hire me if I even get an OTA certification so I'd have a job when I got done at least. We'll see. Tomorrow is cardio and I'm still avoiding P90 because of the high impact (I should have my new crosstrainers sometime next week). I might try Kathy 's Peak Fat Burning again (see if I can get the DVD going). I have to work in the morning so my workout might not happen until evening but it will happen. Sunday I have to workout too because I took Tuesday off and that will be strength so I'll probably do P90 Sculpt 3-4 then. Alright, I'm removing my butt from this couch to get a few things done now!
