I for one am not going to release without signed release form.Dr. A Caughlin DC CAC155 NW 1st Ave Day, Or. 97845 office fax To: caughlindrc@...CC: rjacksondc@...; oregondcs From: bchaser@...Date: Fri, 23 Mar 2012 07:58:53 -0700Subject: Re: MedAssurant records request?????

I am not sure-have not been asked for records themselves. I would

assume the request will be for ODS patients.

Hi Rod

A few others said that they received a letter from

MedAssurant on this list serve last week. Letters were

sent to me and others in my clinic as well, including

our M.D., so they don't seem to be singling out CAM

providers. Our M.D. received a specific request for

records as well.

Thanks!

There is no release, they just cited HIPAA regs. They asked for very specific records, like BMI screenings and mammogram results. Rod Tillamook Re: MedAssurant records request?????

Tell them to go pound sand! and again I would call my patient and not only inform them but tell them they need to talk to an attorney.. Second I sugget you talking to an attorney as well, as someone needs to go after these people if they are surely lying about Hiipa without a release form. Ask one of the attorneys on this list server for the rest of us.

Any update on these requests and what everyone is doing with them? I received one also, but have not responded. Do we need a signed HIPPA release from the patient?Jamey Dyson, DC

I just got one today but it is focused on diabetes management and her treatment was neuromuscular. I have not had time to call them to see if they still want it. Also the cover letter stated that under HIPPA law that notes can be released to the health plan for quality assurance purposes. Anyone know if this is true?
