Today's free day doesn't feel so freeing. We went to a buffet style

place for breakfast and I got a plate of food and just couldn't do

it. I had a bite here and a bite there but everything was so heavy

and starchy that it didn't even taste good to me. I went back for

salad.

I had a glass of soda and then switched to water.

I had no problem sharing chocolate cake though. Ha! I plan to round

out the rest of my free day with BEER and some bar food. Later.

Progress report:

Weight: Down 5.2#

Tape measurements:

Neck: no change

Chest: no change

Waist: down 1 "

Hips: down 0.5 "

Thigh: no change

Calf: down 1 "

Upper arm: no change

Forearm: down 0.5 "

The true challenge will be packing enough food to make it through at

least 4 meals at work tomorrow (I'm a nurse and I usually work a

couple 12 hour shifts per week). I plan to go straight to the gym

afterwards for my lower body workout and then will probably have a

protein shake afterwards and a meal sometime before bed.

That is a great first week! Congratulations!

I work 12 hour shifts too sometimes. My little hard Igloo cooler wouldn't

hold everything, so I bought this ridiculously large softsided cooler.

Co-workers laughed at me the first day. Like, " How much are you planning to

eat, woman? " But a week later everybody else had luggage sized coolers. It's

a trend. LOL

I wish we could do that. I work in a prison so everything has to be in a clear

container. I haven't found any clear coolers. I have this little clear plastic

tote bag and I keep everything in little clear tupperware things (I even have to

take the protein bars out of their packages and put them in clear ziplocs, pour

yogurt out into clear tubs, etc.). You should have seen me trying to explain to

the guards in the gatehouse what my protein powder was. Ha!

It definitely makes things more challenging, that's for sure.
