Guest guest
Tks Bronwyn and I appreciate the vote of confidence - sometimes it does get a bit crazy and you start doubting yourself for a moment. I do feel better knowing that Mums who can relate to my rant! Thank you ladies. x Re: VB QUESTION PLEASE! Confidentiality is just that. You stated your reasons for keepingthings private, that was not respected. This isn't a matter of typesof therapy but types of person. Your rights are paramount - this teamof people only EXISTS in relation to your family because of YOUR driveto help your child. If there is a professional body to refer to then you should because itis hard enough gauging your child's needs and juggling their therapyand this is not in the interests of anybody, now or in the future. The relationship between a parent and their childs therapists can betricky but ultimately you know your child best and the kind ofprogramme/relationship/ that suits your family. No wonder you'reseething.Steph x>> I have just had a very frustrating experience which I would like toshare and would appreciate your comments. > > We have been running a VB programme for 2years and run into aproblem with our Snr Tutor. I was not sure if it was the tutor or theSupervisor whom I was having communication problems with. I sent anemail to a new Consultant briefly putting him in the picture (I dealtwith him in the past) and suggested there might be a possibility thatwe would be looking for someone to take over the programme and whathis availability would be. I asked him to keep this confidential ashe is familiar with the Tutor and the Supervisor. All of this wasplan 'B' so I was not left in the cold with the school transition inSept. > > Well, this consultant phoned our supervisor, told her that I wasunhappy with her and wanted to know his availability to take over theprogramme. The supervisor in turn, contacted me and said she had nochoice but to resign if I was unhappy with her work.> > The supervisor and I have resolved the issues and although thesenior tutor might leave the team the supervisor will not.> > I am absolutely seething that a professional person can be soirresponsible and unprofessional where I specifically requested thathe respect the correspondence as confidential! At the very least, heshould have come back to me to advise that he would not be avail.because he has a professional relationship with our supervisor etc.! > > Am I completely wrong in my thinking???> > >
